CHESS TEAM UPDATE

The MCHS Chess Team finished the season with a .500 average (13-13-2), which is a huge success over last season. Our conference record, however, was even better, 4-2-2 for a .625 average. For the conference tournament held here at MCHS on January 30th, the team finished 4th out of 9 with a heart-wrenching loss to Stillman Valley in the 3rd round, which knocked us out of the running for a trophy. This season has been a long and difficult one, but we’re very quickly becoming one of the most feared opponents in the conference as we look to dominate the North Division of the NICL within the next two years.

Now that the competitive season is over, we are gearing up for the State Team Tournament in Peoria on February 11th and 12th. Keep reading for updates. »
